This is a side view of our house, emailed to us by our neighbor, Linda. I've never seen this much snow at home!! |
This is the view from our neighbor Dan's front door! It's the best he could do, since he couldn't get out of the house!! |
I would have been snowed in, aching to leave for the trip :-(
We drove south from Chincoteague across the Chessapeake Bridge and Tunnel, where we saw a unique sight: Ahead about 5 miles, we watched as a tanker passed over what seemed like the roadway, but it was over one of the two tunnel sections. Quite unusual - wish we were closer and had the camera handy.
We're driving the Jeep, which will soon transform into our towed car, and in it, are all the items we keep at home for the winter, ready to be taken into the motorhome each year. There is so much stuffed in the car, that we look like The Beverly Hillbillies! Just call me Granny! ..........Hey! Wait! Somebody DOES call me Granny!!!
We have 2 full days of driving until we reach Red Bay, Alabama. It has been below freezing at night there, but its due to warm up just in time for our arrival.....We planned it perfectly!
